Fineblast have recently been undertaking specialist machinery cleaning tasks for the HS2 project at sites across the region.

Metal blast cleaning for HS2 machinery across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire

The Fineblast team have been kept busy recently with various job cleaning machinery at HS2 sites across the region.

FineBlast use extra-fine crushed glass to ensure the smoothest of finishes on all metal surfaces. Blasting is the fastest, cleanest, greenest and highest quality way to strip paint and rust from machinery.

In just one step, we can remove paint, primer, rust, and body filler, leaving the surface ready for re-application. Our "wet blasting" process reduces the friction caused, which in turn reduces surface temperature - that means you don't need to worry about warping.

If the machinery has varying surface types (suck as steel, fibreglass and filler) we can adjust pressure as we work so nothing is compromised or delayed. We can even apply a rust inhibitor as part of our blasting, keeping the surface rust free for 72 hours.

Different treatments for different surfaces

Brickwork & Stone

We use fine crushed glass to prevent etching and reduce overall damage to the surface.

Metals

We use medium-grade crushed glass for the tougher metal jobs where the finish doesn't need to be ultra smooth.

Car Bodywork

We use extra-fine crushed glass to create a smooth finish. Can be applied with additives or without.

Ceramics and Tiles

We use wet or dry glass beads on this tough surface to remove the build-up of calciums and staining.

Fibreglass / Boat Hulls

We use wet blasted fine crushed glass on this softer surface for the removal of paints and other build up.

Woodwork & Beams

We use crushed glass to ensure no damage occurs to the surface, whilst providing a smooth clean.

General / All Purpose

We use soda blasting (baking soda) as a method of removing surface contaminants and light staining or discolouration.

Ceramics and Tiles

We use wet or dry glass beads on this tough surface to remove the build-up of calciums and staining.
